Lynn, thanks for your reply.I have changed web sites and don't remember what all I said, however, I thank you for the chart on the Abbotts.I have been given info that Wm. Abbott married a Mary SarahDennard and that indeed one of their children was Robert.I have been in touch with a lady in SC who is also researching this line.The LDS ancestral file shows that Wm. Abbott and Mary Sarah Dennard Abbott had a child Temperance who married James Knox.Others tell me that there was a dau, Mary Ann Abbott, who married James Knox.My ancestor I know for sure was Sarah "Sally" Ann Knox b 1810 in Spartanburg, SC.There was a James Knox there in 1810.In 1840 there was a James Knox in Pickens District, SC. On the same page of the census was Samuel Dearman, 25 years old, single.With James Knox were three females who would match the ages of Sarah, America (her illigitimate daughter), and Polly, who was listed at idiotic on the 1850 census.I believe she might have been a sister.IN 1850 James was apparently dead (he was between 60-70 in 1840), and Samuel Dearman weas married to Sally Ann Knox and America and Polly were in his household.Samuel Dearman and Sally Knox Dearman were my gggrandparents.I have the line down from there but cannot sort out the question of which Abbott married my James Knox.It is possible there was another James in that area.There were four or five Knox man and boys who immigrated to SC just before the Revolution.Hugh, Samuel, Joseph, James, John orclose to that.I had thought his James might have been one of them. What do you know about your Knox family?Where did they come from, when, etc.
