"A Twentieth Century History and Biographical Rcord of North and West Texas" written by B.B. Paddock in 1906 includes a biography of James M. Able.James Able a son of James M. Abel and a nephew of John B. Abel.In his book, passock ststes that James Able's "paternal grandparents, Moses and nancy Able, were natives of Ireland and were married in that country, but soon afterward crossed the Atlantic to the United States."Some researchers believe that Paddock was correct - others do not.If Paddock was correct, then John B. Able's parents were Moses and Nancy Able.John B. Abel had a brother named Moses Abel and John B.'s brother James Snr. named one of his sons Moses.
