I am seeking genealogical information on the James Abeel/Abel and the William Abeel/Able, who resided in the Saratoga District of Albany (now part of Saratoga and Washington) County, NY in the 1770's.
James Abeel's name appears on both the March 2, and the October 23, 1779 Saratoga District Tax List of Albany County, NY.I know that he was elected deacon of the Dutch Reformed Church at old Saratoga, now Schuylerville, Saratoga County, NY.He served 13th Regiment of the Albany County Militia and filed a claim for damages done to his property during the American Revolution. Jane Betsy Willing claimed that he lived in Easton (There Were Here Too Vol. 1page 38). What I need to know are:
1. His dates and places of his birth and death;
2. The names and dates for his parents;
3. The names and dates for his children; and
4. The names and dates for his children's spouses.
I also have a James Abeel, who married Hannah Fish the daughter of Benjamin Fish, a taxpayer of the 10/23/1779 Saratoga District Tax List.However since Hannah was born after 1783, I doubt that the James who married Hannah was the Rev War Soldier who served with the 13th Regiment. Are these two James Abeel's related and if so, how?
All I know about William Abeel is that he served with the 13th Regiment of the Albany County Militia during the American Revolution.I would appreciate receiving the same information on him as I have requested on James Abeel, the taxpayer.
Thank you for you help in this matter.
