Andreas Abel settled on 1/2 of the Davenport Tract in southern Morris County. The location is just above the Hunterdon County line. The area is known as Parker. It is east of Rt 513 and north of Fairmount,NJ. This farm still exists and has very little development. Just a few houses . The original farmstead can still be located by followong the map shown in "Early Germans Of New Jersey " by Theodore Chambers. Look for the map of Washington Twp. in the lower right hand corner. This property was willed to Andreas sons after his death in 1750 and eventually his 2nd son Michael owned it all. He sold it and moved to nearby Pottersville. My Grandfather worked on this farm in the late 1800s. The area is also known as Fox Hill . Look on a NJ map of the area for Pickell Rd. The farmstead lies on a bend in the road just as depicted in Chamber,s book. It is a beautiful area. There is much info in Chamber,s book about this family.
