Hi Andrea! I descend from Landon's brother, William Chester.I have their father and mother as James Abel and Sarah ?.I would love copies of the transcript of the old Abel Family Bible!Have you actually seen it? That would be so exciting! What you said in your e-mail may be a good clue.I have Ezekiel,Sr. as the father of James (born in 1795 in SC and married to a Sarah ?), Ezekiel, Jr.(born in 1799 in SC and married to ?)and Joseph(born in 1802 in SC and married to Susan ?, also born in SC).It is such a coincidence that your James and my James were born in the same year and married to a Sarah!Maybe, somehow, I have their father wrong! What children does your Bible list for James?Maybe my g-grandfather, William Chester Abels, was named for his grandfather. I have been to the Abels cemetery in Attala Co., MS. It is way back in the woods. It was several years ago and I didn't have presence of mind to write down all of the names from the tombstones.I would love to go back again.I remember there were not too many gravestones.I'm sure that a lot of people were probably buried there with no stone. This Thanksgiving, I am going to Mississippi to visit family, but also meet with another descendant of James and Sarah and their son, William Chester (married to Martha Caroline Carter). If I find out any good info, I will pass it on to you. All I have for Landon (son of James)is that he was born in 1820 in Tennessee and died before 1850.James' oldest son, W.A. (born in 1815 in Tenn. and married to Elizabeth ?)also had a son named Landon (born in 1839 in Alabama). I don't have anymore details on either Landon, but I do have the names of their siblings.I will be glad to send any info that I have if you would like it. Please send the transcript of the Abel Bible.
Thanks and looking forward to hearing from you! Kerry Abels Henderson Hartsville, SC
