I show the same dates of birth and death as you have for Martin Dial and wife, Christie Abercrombie, but only have names of eight children. If you are correct about the marriage date of 1775, that may explain why I have names of only eight children. Was there a child born before John Hastings Dial?No proof, but think he was born abt. 1781.
I have a copy from a book "Martin Dial and Related Families by Hastings Harrison. With that copy and lots of more research I've managed to trace Dial descendants from Laurens Co., S.C. to Walton Co., GA. to Randolph and Clay Counties, Alabama. My Sims and Abercrombie ancestry is also traced back to Laurens Co., S.C., Walton Co., GA., Chambers, Randolph and Clay Co's., Alabama. There were marriages in Clay Co., AL. between descendants of Martin Dial and my Sims relatives. As best as I know at least some descendants continue to reside at or near Delta, Clay Co., AL.The copy of book of my reference was loaned to me by Esther Mae Sims - nee Dial whose ancestry is traced back to Martin Dial and wife, Chrystie Abercrombie.
