Lindy: Of course a theory can be wrong, but to completely disregard theories with proven merit such as 'naming patterns and migration patterns' would be nonsensical. I am not 'tossing in' anything, just logically followingpotential sources of information in an 'attempt' to ascertain other family members. I never claimed said theories when applied should be...blindly cast in stone...as you indirectly imply!
Physically placing one's self in Scotland in an attempt to 'discover' the missing links in one's Abercrombie ancestry is NOT the 'last straw' in proving said missing links. I visited Scotland years ago. Hopefully, our cousin will enjoy the immense beauty of Scotland and walk where our ancestors walked! My mind is open as to any NEW Abercrombie 'discoveries' our cousin may find in Scotland. Tony Schoonover
