Lindy: I suggest you review various 'early' editions of "History of Texas and Texans" and specifically the 1916 edition. These editions include documented references. Said 1916 edition refers, in part, to the daughters of James Abercrombie (our circa 1709) as being Rebecca, Crystal, Isabella and MARY). Included is the 'migration pattern' of said Abercrombie family..."came from Pennsylvania to South Carolina." Another edition refers to a James Abercrombie as a soldier in the Texas 1836 Army against Mexico (Texas Revolution). Various Abercrombie cousins claim said James Abercrombie was the son of James (1787) and the grandson of James (our circa 1740). James' (1787) sister shown as Rebecca Abercrombie, wife of Gabriel Jowell, that brought suit against her father James' (our circa 1740) estate. More information to follow...Tony Schoonover
