Ralph, Here is some stuff I have gathered in my research. CENSUS RECORDS: 1840: Fayette Co., Georgia; 15-20 yrs. old. Married to woman 20-30 yrs old. Under David Crombie. On same page as Wm. Sr. The record indicates there are no children. However, in 1850, the boy William is 12 yrs. old. Solution: In the elder William's home (1840) there is a boy listed as under 5. This could be Henry David's William. Also listed in Wm. Sr.'s home are a man and woman in the exact age group as Henry David and Lucinda. It could be that the census taker included Henry David's whole family in Wm. Sr.'s household and then counted H.D. and Lucinda in their own as well. 1850: Fayette Co., Georgia; 30 yrs. old. Wife Lucinda, 30. 6 children. On same page as Wm. Sr. Born in Georgia. Farmer. Under Henry H. (D?) Crubie. The children enumerated in the 1850 census are: William (b. 1838), Mary (b. 1840),Ann Eliza (b. 1842), Sarah (b. 1844), Martha (b. 1845), and Thomas (b. 1850). It lloks like Henry David was the son of William Abercrombie Sr. of Laurens. William was paying taxes in Franklin Co., GA., in 1818, so H. D. probably would have been born there. The 1820 Franklin Co. census records have been lost. Hope this has been of some help. I would like to know your line, if you don't mind, from Henry David to you.
