Thomas was my Great Grandfather. You referred to him as Joseph, was that the name that he was known by in your family?
The reason I wanted to know what happened to her is that Thomas ends up in Marion Co., Ala. with his wife Martha ? . NO one seems to know what her maiden name was. I do not know if this is Mary Lett, even though the age does not match. I do not know were Thomas is in 1870. He turns up in Marion County in 1880,with Martha age 30 and two children Loutisha 8years old and Zacharia 3 years old.
Thomas was in the Civil War ,but he definately did not die.
