Erin, right now I do not have the answer to who was the father of Buckner Abernathy and his wife Jane maiden name. He is in the 1830 Census for Habersham County Georgia he is age 40-50 and wife 30-40 he has three males and three females. 1840 Habersham County Census he is 60-70 and wife is 40-50. he has 3 males and three females. In the 1850 Habersham Census Jane Abernathy age - born N.C. James age 38 born N.C. V.A. female age 26 born N.C. Robert A. age 22 born Georgia. Buckner Abernathy and Jane had a son Miles who married Margaret Peggy Westmoreland daughter of Robert and Mary Westmoreland they all so had a daughter Margaret who married James Isaac Sims which I decend from. There daughter Milly married James Allison son of Benjamin and Cassandra Allison and they lived in White County. In the 1860 White County Georgia Census you will find Joel and Margaret, Robert and Elizabeth, James and Lucinda, James and Margaret Sims and Jane Abernathy is in home of son Robert she is age 65. according to land records Miles and Peggy lived so far back in the mountains on the Chatahoochee River that the census taker could not find them. I have a book comming in next few week on the Abernathy from White County Georgia and if I find any thing I will post it. I would like very much for you to e-mail me at firstname.lastname@example.org and tell me how far you can go back from your grandparents. I hope to hear from you soon James and Margaret Sims named there first born son Buckner Vincent Sims my gg grandfather who in turn marries Mary Westmoreland a niece of Margaret Peggy Westmoreland Abernathey.
