The History of Pisgah by W. Thomas Cardin, p 23, pulished in the Pulaski Record in 1904, Article dated 27 Oct 1904, gives John Neal as a son of Charles Neal from Va., born in 1797, first married Sandal Abernathy, their children were Henry, William, and Mary, married second to a Jackson, they had one child, Martha.
Henry was the husband of Miss Sarah Ann Neal, who was living in 1904 at the age of 77.Henry was born 6 Nov 1825, and died 26 Jul 1854.They had three children, all dead by 1904.Isaac Henry died in Arkansas when 19 years old.Mrs. E. F. Aymett deseased, Mrs. Golightly deceased; were the other two.Dr. R. E. Aymett married Mrs. Golightly's only daughter, Annie.Their children, Leonard J., Allen, Rachel E., and Urban are the sixth generation of Charles Neal.
Mary Neal married Dr. W. E. Lancaster.
Nothing is given on William.
Martha, married Henry Butler and lived in Pulaski.
Cemetery Records of Giles County Tennessee, 1986, p 396, in addition to the tomestone of Sandal which gives:Sandal Neal, consort of John Neal6 Nov 178911 Aug 1854 and immediately before hers is the tombstone of Charles Neal with the notation Old box stone - no dates.
This must be John's father.JEA
Giles County Historical Society Bulletin, 10 Apr 1977, p 3, District 8 School Cenus, gives John Neal with 3 children ages6-16.
Immediately after John's listing is Wiley Neal, 5 children.Wiley is probably the brother of John.JEA
