> Do you have any details about his sister Mary/Polly Abernathy born November 13, 1788 who, I believe, married Abram Dailey of Lincoln County, North Carolina.
Not nearly as much as I'd like. Names of two husbands (Absolom Duncan and Abraham or Abram Dailey) and a snippit of info on some Dailey descandants, one of whom married back into one of my other collateral lines.
Two ends of a string that I have not yet personally verified, but you're certainly welcome to it with my blessings:
Descendant Jacob Dailey married a Minerva Keebler, Mary Dailey m. Alex McCollister, Grace McCollister married Martin Theophilus Moody (s/ Martin Theophilus Moody, CSA, 28th Alabama Inf, Co I), Mary Elizabeth Moody m. Forney Rutledge Daugette. I have seen one source giving a birthdate for Mary Elizabeth of 13 Sep 1918, but the 1920 Census for Calhoun County (ED 12, Piedmont Township, p. 7a) shows her as aged 12.
> There are so many Mary and/or Polly Abernathys that I want to make sure I have the right one.
I certainly understand that, but I believe you DO have the right Mary/Polly Abernathy! Except for the relinkage back into another one of my collateral lines with the marriage of Mary Elizabeth to Forney Daugette, I might not have had anything on them at all. So I suppose I'd best go poke around a bunch of marriage, census and cemetery records once again and see what else I can turn up.
