Hi Charlene,so , we have talked before?I am so forgetful these days, it's amazing. The "French Connection" is a dead issue as far as I am concerned, however, I just heard from a Cousin who has accepted the info in his GGrandfather's Obit (Mason Ezzell),written in 1912, wherein it states that this man's Grandfather was the Original Mason Ezzell, from France. So, who knows?
I will be happy to send a copy of Ann Ezzell Abernathy's picture.I will have to copy it from our book.Nancy McKenzie Gilbert Ezzell's also.By the by , I could snail- mail the book as it has Harrison's picture as well as others, Ben Gilbert Ezzell, Jonathon Gilbert Ezzell, Robert Gilbert Ezzell and Mason Ezzell ( the one the Obit was about, born 1819.The pictures are all made from old tintupes found by my Cousin in San Antonio, in my Grandmother's Civil War trunk. She was Eloise Loving Ezzell.
The Rice connection is as follows;Luther and Ann Ezzell Abernathy's only son attended Rice University, here in Houston. His name supposedly was Luther also. He became a Lawyer, so the story goes.
If you are interested, E-Mail me at firstname.lastname@example.org I will copy the book for you. A copy of it is in Salt Lake and here at the Clayton Gen Lib.
