There is a fragment of a letter from Liles Abernathy (17??-1814) to Reace Rolling [sic],17 December 1800, in a collection of Abernathy Papers at the Library of Virginia, referring to himself as "your loving brother," viz., liklelybrother-in-law.Liles was a son (presumably the eldest) of David Abernathy of Dinwiddie County (17??-1784) and a brother of Jesse Abernathy (17??-1777) and Clarissa Abernathy (17??-1???).I still have questions about the alleged marriage date of Clarissa Abernathy and Reace Rollling and the dates you give for David A[bernathy?] Rolling, but I assume the Liles Abernathy letter confirms the identity of Clarissa Abernathy as the daughter of David of Dinwiddie.Let me know what else you need to know about David.I am reworking a collection of papers relating to his family.
