Elizabeth,
Thank you for your reply; I will gladly send you the latest information that I have, hopefully by the latter part of the coming week, as I may be gone for a few days. I want you to know that I am in NO way attempting to call anyone a "liar," or cause offense in any way. However, if Marcus was born in 1836, he might not have known about a David b. 1790, (who moved to AL by the 1830 census) (?)Also, I am trying not to let any pride of pedigree interfere with my research, as I think it would certainly prove to be an impediment, and I find your use of the word "merely" quite interesting.I invite you to read also, my last post, (which includes a correction:"Meant to say Macon, not Coosa").- Sorry!
In answer to your question about David's wife: Jane, 61, b. SC. (1850 Macon AL census).
NOTE: In the book, "Tennessee Cousins," by Armstrong, it mentions, (by name), about twenty-some odd Methodist families that came from South Carolina (together), to Maury Co. TN, about the time it opened for settlement.
I have it somewhere, in the mountain of papers that I've accumulated. If I can't find it, I'll check out the book and copy it for you.
Let us proceed rationally...
OCF
