Thanks for looking into this. I dug up the rest of our info and I think we may be dealing with different people.
This is what I know. Nancy Abernathy Ward (b. 06/14/1828) and Robert D. Ward (b. 08-27-1846) had seven children: Mary E. Nathan, William, James T., Emily J., Lincoln and Nancy M.Nancy M. is my ancestor and was born 04/20/1868 and died 08/18/1897 or 1898.
We have a photo of Nancy Abernathy Ward, her husband Robert Ward and daughter Nancy M. Ward standing in front of their house/inn in Blue Mound, Illinois in 1878. We don't know when they moved to Illinois from Ohio, but it must have been before 1878. We also have a photo of Nancy M. Ward in the 1880s that was taken in Decatur, Illinois and family lore has them staying in Illinois.
Nancy M. married and had one child named Marian E. born 08-17-1896.She married a man with the last name Hendrick and died in 1980.
Family lore also says that Marian had done geaneology research and had traced the family back to the Revolution. Supposedly she was already to join DAR, but was too cheap to pay the dues! Legend also has us related to Ethan Allen, but I doubt that. I'd like to retrace the family back to the revolution- but we end with Nancy Abernathy and her husband. Do your Abernathys have any Revolution ties?
