I just thought these deeds belonged with the previous posts to this forum and there are lots of other deeds easily found on the Bute County, NC, GenWeb site, I think I may have mentioned that before. So the Robert ABERNATHY and Mary in the first deed must be (I guess) Robert ABERNATHY the 3rd and Mary (some say HARWELL) is there any proof? The 2nd deed must be Robert ABERNATHY the 4th and Ann ( some say Ann TURNER or Ann NICHOLS ) is there any proof? I am kind of doubting the Ann NICHOLS as I think she could be Ann COLEMAN if I could just find some daughters for Richard COLEMAN whom the two Robert ABERNATHYS served under in the Colonial Mititia of Granville County, NC, which Bute County was part of at that time. Right after ( I guess next generation or so ) there are some Coleman ABERNATHYS and some Turner ABERNATHYS. There is another COLEMAN family in Bute but I don't know if they are related. Did Robert ABERNATHY 3 have an Earl GRANVILLE grant?
