Thanks for the offer of documentation, but in connection with our Y-DNA surname project, I really only need that which relates to male Abernethys of whatever variation of spelling they happen to use who are assisting in our project. I'm not doing as much research on daughter lines as I once did.
If my family's medical history doesn't yank me away from this world too soon, I may be able to compile something on this, the favorite of all my ancestors surnames. The problem is that I keep finding more information that needs to be verified and/or conflicts resolved and since I'm barelymonths away from my three score and ten, I am not at all sure that I have a whole lot of time left. It may be that whatever my legacy happens to be is scattered over various message boards for someone younger to incorporate in their published work in the future.
