> However, the bride's name was illegible or smeared and is left blank on the transcription.
> Miles Abernathy was the bondsman so people have assumed the bride was an Abernathy.
Beware. Assumptions have caused grave troubles in genealogy research before.
> They name their first son Robert which ties into Abernathy ancestors.
A common enough Abernathy name, true, but that by itself is certainly not conclusive.
> A William and Barbara Abernathy were witnesses for Alex's father Isaac Lowrance's will in 1836.
Probably lived next door.
> Any ideas?
Other than the one above, nope. The first Lowrance in my database is Hiram who mdMartha Abernathy in 1830. Then I've got Catherine who md Miles S. Abernathy in 1840 and Elizabeth who md Turner in 1842. And that, I'm afraid, is the sum total of my Lowrance entries in my files.
