Please forgive a minor delay. I don't think or move nearly as rapidly as I did 60 years ago. Will reply privately to your email address and thanks for including it.
I descend from a daughter of David Abernathy Sr (b. 1726 VA, d. 1814 NC) of the 4th generation. Except for a couple of years during the Vietnam War, I've never lived anywhere but in the Southeast.
For the past 15 years I, like several other serious researchers, have been devoting myself exclusively to the Abernethy/Abernathy lineages. On the branch that descends from the Robert Abernethy/Abernathy of Charles City County VA, I have, over the years, accumulated a lot of information and perhaps helped to clarify many of the errors of that very early line prior to the times and locations where documentation has been so hard to come by.
I also have a "problem" file for the Charles City VA lineage of over a hundred issues where the data is or appears to be somewhat contradictory. I regret to say that some of your data on your line prior to 1800 is suspect regarding the maiden names of the wives. Also, your Joab and his wives and children is one of those nagging problems, to wit, the wives he had and the children from them. I am sorry to say that I have also been unable to document a link between Joseph and Glaphira and most of the children they are alleged to have had, including your Joab.
If you don't get my email, am prepeared to repost here but would rather not: we have things to discuss that involve specific dates and locations and I don't want to expose any of us to the danger of possible identity theft.
