My database is not online, mostly because I decline to post it when much of my database has not yet been fully verified by me. Since my present primary focus is Y-DNA testing, I also do not presently follow the lines of Abernathy daughters after they marry, since Y-DNA testing requires direct and unbroken male lineage. I have in the past, however, and I do have your William Lee in my database. My unsourced notes claim that William Lee was a son of James Ludwell Lee and Aurilla Perkins (I have no sources or further data on them). The source for William's marriage to Susannah Abernathy is in Curtis Bynum's "Marriage Bonds of Tryon and Lincoln Counties, North Carolina", originally published by the Catawba County Historical Association, Inc in Newton, NC in 1929 and since reprinted twice by another publishing company in 1982 & 1991, ISBN 0-89308-316-X. I obtained my copy from amazon.com for around $25.
I have Susannah (Abernathy) Lee listed in my database as a daughter of Robert Abernathy (b. Brunswick Co, VA cir 1750 +/-2 yrs, d. before Apr 1846) or Abernethy and Abigail Harwell. This Robert's will was signed on 8 Apr 1830 and probated Apr 1846. He lists 7 children in his will, including Susannah whom he designates as 'Susan Lee'. I doubt your Jesse Lee was the same individual as the Jesse Lee whom I have in my database as the son of William & Susannah.
I have "my" Jesse Lee's marriage to a Nancy Abernathy on 28 Jul 1834 in Lincoln County NC, source cited above. Jo Ann Sizer posted an online tree on ancestry.com on 6 Mar 2004 which included the family of Jesse & Nancy Lee, citing research by Bill Lee. As a result, I show 7 children of Jesse & Susan Lee, but the only source I presently have is on the last son, b. 1851 in Catawba County NC & d. 1927 (of pneumonia, from NC Death Certificate) in Gaston County NC.
Needless to say, I've not looked at these Lees in over 5 years and cannot vouch for any of the above for which I have no sources.
