Good to hear from you. Did you used to be Regina Roper from a while back? I remember a Regina Roper who had some Abernathys in TN but it was some time ago and maybe on the old Prodigy Network. I don't have a lot on Miles Abernathy and wife Ursula Bradshaw except that you are right about Ursula and siblingshaving to sue their step mother who was a Beach and married their father William Bradshaw who left her a widow. All the kids did win a settlement of mostly land back in NC I think. I haven't looked at this in a while but my own mother descends from Ursula's brother Josiah.
I have one deed that might be Miles and Ursula that I recently found.
"Apr 1824, Peter Forney (Lincoln County) to Miles Abernathy (same); for $2000 sold - ac on W side of Leeper's Creek; border: begins at a stump on the creek bank above the old ford, joins top of a hill near a fence, joins forks of a branch, & Rudisell. signed Peter Forney (witness) Greeef Abernathy & Bartholomew K Abernathy; Jan. 1826 acknowledged; book 31A p. 610.
I don't know for sure about this Miles but he is in your time period and in the right place. I am pretty sure that Greif Abernathy and Bartholomew K. Abernathy are sons of David Abernathy and his wife Martha (Patty) Abernathy. I believe I got some of that from Elizabeth Ferguson. Martha Patty's brother David Abernathy was married to Christina Forney. David is the son of James Abernathy and wife Elizabeth Cox. They would be close relatives of Miles Abernathy who married Ursula. I have that Miles was born close to the year 1750. I am descended from James Abernathy and Elizabeth Cox on my father's side.
