Yes, but..... the elder Alexander Abernathy, Baptist Minister, was said to have been born _AFTER_ the Revolutionary war was over, so all he was giving was evidence that he believed Daniel was an honorable and truthful man. The war was over by the time the Alexander Abernathy who later became a Baptist Minister was born, so he could not have served _with_ Daniel. On the 1850 census he is listed as 60 years old, on the 1860 census his age is given as 69. That puts his birth in 1790 or 1791. There are other problems relating to this Alexander Abernathy, which is why he is another of my all-too-many Abernathy problems.
