I dont have anything on them yet. Being that "A lot" of the records are missing we are trying to read rev war apps for early connections. "Anything" we can find and then making a list of things we need to try an find at the archives.
My cousin is working on her Spencers and trying to figure out these early ties to the Abernathy's and others. She has ordered some records from the Archives which takes time.
Those marriages I posted to you are from the NC Archive records. Every marriage I have ordered from the archives has been accurate on transcription even taking in to account the misspells so those are the marriage records I use.
My Hood/Ramsey's were living near Alexander Abernathy in Icard Burke. My Hood does not match surname to DNA. He matches many Gallagher at a distance. Closest match we got 62/67 is a Gallagher in Ireland that never stepped foot on US soil. There were early Gallagher's in our area who are very elusive and were in Rowan when All of Rowan was still Indian territory so to speak. They wound up in Iredell and may have been due to border change of counties. Iredell courthouse burnt down! I dont have proof of his parents or siblings. No bastardy bond found to date or apprentice or orphan bond though there maybe one somewhere. His name is Jacob I Hood and Jacob and Isaac names are found in the Martin's not in any Hood family. Most of the Hoods in our area have DNA tested and we dont match any of them. We were also living near Phillip's line of Martin who has the name Jacob in his lines. My Jacob I Hood by 1860 moves from Icard Burke to Granite Falls Caldwell (Gunpowder Creek Burke) This is where my Jacob Hood's son married into Isaac Martin's line of Martin. Isaac martin's line the neighbor of Daniel Smith and others. Isaac martin line who"s neighbor was Daniel Smith. One of Daniels daughters per rev war app one was married to a helton and one to a Thomas. The Helton DNA male line is Indian. They came out of Ludenburg VA/Halifax VA to Rowan and Burke. Many in the Helton line have DNA tested.
We believe my Jacob Hood's sister is Ann Hood who was the mistress of William Arrowood 1850-1860 census. Ann Had 3 children out of wedlock with unk fathers at the moment but believe William Arrowood is the father of her youngest child. Work in progress.
Now one of our martins in Caldwell Peggy had 3 out of wedlock children. No bastardy bond on these children found but her children come back on the census by 1870 with the surnames of Williams and Robinson. The Isaac martin line is both related to Williams and Robinson through the Spencers. One of Peggy Martin's children who claims Williams DNA matches 67/67 marker to the surname Patterson. We have no ties to anyone with the Patterson surname!!!!!! More than one person has tested in this line just like my Hoods so the DNA being "OOPS" is solid
Otis and I did figure out that all the officials in Burke/Lincoln have ties to General Joseph Martin who does have ties to the Cherokee. Why did the records go missing in Burke and taken for so called safe keeping??? What is the truth!!! We may never know!
Gets better. I contacted the Martin DNA project because there was a Dowell Family in our are that matched Martin DNA. I emailed this person to see what martin line they match and they match General Joseph Martin. This person has been researching for over 20 years and orders records. I am working with them too trying to sort out all these "Oops" lines. Their Dowell was in the Rev war and was an orphan in Abermarle where General Joseph Martin was from. The Dowell family does have ties to General Joseph Martin and it appears this Dowell Orphan was adopted by family. The Dowell ( General Joseph martin DNA) married into the Moore of the Globe Caldwell/Burke. The Moores were Court Officials So were the Hildebrands that have ties to the Cherokee. The Hildrebands also have ties to Lightfoot Williams that was a Judge in Lincoln. Conrad Hildrebrand was a witness to Lightfoot Williams Will. I need a "FULL" copy of the will, I only have a transcription at the moment.
Now Lightfoot Williams has some tie to Phillip Martin's line of Burke. John Martin son of Phillip died in Burke his second wife was Sarah McCoy. They were married in Lincoln. Sarah mcCoy and John martin had one son George that was bound out to Ligtfoot Williams when John martin died.. George Jr married into my Jacob Hood's line. My Jacob Hood's first wife a Ramsey. Second wife Loudermilk who was first married to a Stevenson. The Stephenson/Stevenson - Loudermilk line married George martin Jr.
We have some kind of early ties to the White family we are working on. Do you have any Whites in your Abernathy's?
Also what surnames is your DNA matching? This may help all of us "OOPS" try to put the pieces together.
