Do you have any more information regarding the Saddler/Sadler family in relation to the Abernathy's? Also, have you ever heard of a David Abernathy, b. NC, in relation to same?
My 2 great grandfather was (Methodist Episcopal) Rev. Joseph Thomas Abernathy, b. "Near Nashville," TN, 1/4/1824, d. 9/17/1859, on the Socapatoy Circuit, Coosa/Shelby Co., AL. His father was a David Abernathy, b. circa 1790, NC, d. after 1855, Macon Co., AL.
Rev. Jos. T. had a brother, Coleman, b. 1827, TN, a brother, Alexander, and several other siblings b. unk. His children were: (all b. AL) Melissa, Thomas J., James M., Mary Drucilla, David Nathaniel ("Daniel"), Sarah J. ("Susan"), and my great G.F., Joseph Robert Alexander, b. 1858.
The family of Jasper McAdory and wife Eliza Nancy SADLER was also quite involved with this Abernathy family, and David Nathaniel Abernathy (also an M.E. preacher) named a couple of his children, Eliza SADLER Abernathy, and Jasper McAdory Abernathy. D. Nathaniel also had sons, Joseph Turner, and Reuben Phillip Abernathy.
I have so far not been able to prove my Abernathy line beyond David Abernathy b. 1790, NC, and cannot help wondering about the names in my family, and the somewhat familiar names you have listed here on this board, in your posts regarding Hebron Church, and other familiar names I have found while researching this Nathan Abernathy family online, etc. The DNA of my Abernathy cousin also has one marker mutation that matches a descendant of a Miles Osborn Abernathy, who is supposedly somewhat related to this line @ Hebron Church.
Any info at all is appreciated.
