I see by that ancestry that the individual who created it has an error in his lineage.
Dr James Smith Abernathy (md to Elizabeth Ramsey), as I explained to you, is NOT the son of John Abernathy Sr and Lucy Harwell. He is a GRANDson of John Abernathy Sr whose wife's maiden surname is still UNKNOWN despite years of trying by various experts among both the Harwells and the Abernathys!
And I believe that's Miles Smith Abernathy, not Mial Smith Abernathy.
And what's going to 'prove' your Abernathy relatedness will be your Y-DNA in -=combination=- with a paper trail. The scientific data of a Y-DNA test will always trump a suspect paper trail. A paper trail can deceive but never EVER trump a scientific Y-DNA result. If the Y-DNA's haplogroup is entirely different from the group you believe you belong in, the data will be informing you that a) you're in a different group than you thought you should be, OR b) that somewhere up the line an influx of Y-DNA from a 'foreign' haplogroup had entered your paper trail, possibly via an unofficial adoption or an unknown illegitimacy. In either case, it may be difficult, expensive, and time-consuming to discover.
