Robert Abernathy, born in Scotland about 1630 ?, is very likely a captured Scottish soldier in a London jail who was bought and transported in 1652 by Robert West for the land on Bayliss Creek in Virginia. Robert West likely sold the five year indenture of Robert Abernathy to the Tillmans or Parhams or Cubishas who probably needed Robert Abernathys services as a soldier to fight the Indians or to marry one of their daughters. He, Robert, was probably a fine looking fellow. Charlie Abernathy firstname.lastname@example.org
