Several descendants of Robert Haynes Pogue and Martha Jerusha Abernathy have been diagnosed with HEMACHROMITOSIS, a condition resulting in the body not being abe to rid itself of excess iron. Unfortunately, patients often are diagnosed as being anemic and given additional iron, which has lead to the death of at least one Pogue descendant. A one-year-old child is the latest to be misdiagnosed, but fortunately his extra iron has been discontinued.
Robert (son of Stuart Pogue and Lucinda Acker) and Jerusha (daughter of Samuel Vance Abernathy and Eleanor Abernethy) were married 10 Jan 1858 in Pontotoc County, Mississippi. Which family line did that disease come through: POGUE, ABERNATHY, ABERNETHY, or ACKER?
If you know of a descendant of any of these or related lines who has HEMACHROMITOSIS, please get in touch. Thanks, firstname.lastname@example.org
