They might be related somehow. John B Abel or Ables was born in 1793 inSC. There were five brothers. John was the oldest. They all were in TN by 1818 when John B Ables married Rhoda Johnson. They all went to eastern Alabama in the Randolph co Al area. I know John B Abel had a son named Thomas M Ables who was in Winston co Al before 1860. Thomas M Abels married Lucinda Ray in 1862 in Winston co Al. They lived in Winston,Walker and Fayette co Al and possibly Lamar co Al from 1862-1900. They were listed in the 1900 Fayette co Al census. Their daughter Sarah Elizabeth Ables born in 1877 married Lloyd Costello Smith in 1892 in Monroe co MS which is the county just across the state line from Lamar co Al. Maybe your Ables descend from one of the five Albe brothers. Maybe they lived in eastern Al in the 1830's and the 1840's and then went to Lamar co Al. Thanks,Ross
