Captain William Abrahams of the old North Church is my 7th great grandfather and was a captain of the ship, the William Abramhams. He was born in England and emmigrated to Charlestown sometime prior to 1704.He died in Charlestown, 25 August 1763 and is buried in a crypt beneath the old North Church. He married Mary Evens and when she died, married Martha Hill.
The second half of the pew first was occupied by Captain George Barrow and then by Mr. Ebenezer Cheevors before William acquired that also on February 10, 1734.He also purchased another ful pew (number 5) sometime in 1726.He is also listed as a contributor towards the organ, a set of bells and an ordination trip for the minister's son.
William and Martha's children were Martha, William, Mary, Woodward, Abraham Hill, Elizabeth, Nathaniel, Sarah, all baptised in the Old North Church (First Christ Church).
I am looking for more info between their children and my grandfather, if anyone is familiar with this.Several generations after William, the family changed the name to Abrams.
Thanks, Charlotte
