Mary Ann, Did your father ever mention the causes of his mother's (Dora Mae WARD) and father's (William Congrave ABRAMS) deaths and/or the exact dates? He was really young, not quite 8, when his father passed away and a little over 13, when his mother passed away, so he may not have known exactly.
I have William Congrave ABRAMS, born: ? May 1863 in Chariton Co., Missouri and died: 19, April 1901 in Pottawatomie Co., Okla.William Congrave ABRAMS married Dora Mae WARD 2 Sept. 1888 (I have a photocopy of their marriage record.)
Dora Mae Ward was born: ? March 1870, possibly in Loraine, Adams Co., Illinois and died: ? Nov. 1906 in Pottawatomie Co., Okla. I think that her parents were: Perry Clark WARD and Rebecca GROTZ/CUTTS/etc. (Still searching for documentation.)
William Congrave ABRAMS parents were: Isaac ABRAMS (b: 28 Jan. 1834 in Kentucky; d: 19 Nov. 1869 in Chariton Co., Mo.) and Nancy Jane LLEWELLYN (b: 15 April 1839 near St. Catherine, Mo.; d: 2 Mar. 1927 near Sumner, Chariton Co., Mo.)
Isaac ABRAMS married Nancy Jane LLEWELLYN on 22 Mar. 1860 in Chariton Co., Mo.(I sent a letter requesting marriage records, but the clerk of the court sent a note back to me, saying that they could not find any records.)
I have a photocopy of the guardianship papers for the minor children of Dora Mae ABRAMS, named as: Isaac Chester, Laura L., and Lura ABRAMS.An uncle John McKee from Missouri was appointed their guardian.A William Palm was appointed guardian of the estate. (This document mentions my granmother Flossie Leota (ABRAMS) NEWPORT.) (I think that John McKee married a sister of Dora Mae Ward, but am still searching for proof.)
The parents of Isaac ABRAMS were Judge Thomas ABRAMS and Elizabeth ROSE.
The parents of Nancy Jane LLEWELLYN were John L. LEWELLYN and Stacy Emily MORSE.
Thanks to a decendant of Isaac ABRAMS and Nancy Jane LLEWELLYN, I have photocopies of photographs of Judge Thomas ABRAMS, Nancy Jane LLEWELLYN, Stacy Emily MORSE, your dad, Isaac Chester ABRAMS with his cousin Bernie ABRAMS and others.
This same decendant, also, sent me photocopies of obituaries and excerpts from some county history books.
