Thanks so much to both of you who illustrated me about the origin of the surname "Abreu". It was unknown to most of the Abreu families living in Puerto Rico that I know.
How come that two Canarian Families, one García and the other Delgado, during the 1700 plus used the surname "de Abreu"? It means "From Abreu". I wondrer if their ancestors were from Portugal. Further research could explain this possibility. Thanks again. Enrique
