My name is Stephen Absolon and I am carrying out research on my family tree. Have become very aware during my research that very often the end letters of “m” and “n” get mistaken when copied from old parish records etc. Indeed, have also found the “o” become “a” and even the odd “o” a “u” etc. Now keep a very open mind on the spelling as I have found in records that proof the family link the name spelling is slightly different. One branch of the “Absolon” came from Wallingford and I have a Richard, John and Elizabeth Absolon from Cholsey Berks in the 1472 – 1613 time(WFT2). Would like to link up and swap info until we find we are going in different directions. My particular branch is London based up to 1800(direct) then we cannot get any further as yet.
