Moses Ace, subject, proprietor of the Riverside House, of Smithfield township, was born in May of 1845.
I. Peter Ace, grandfather, one of the pioneer settlers, later in life moved to Tunkhannoc, Luzerne Co. Children; George, married and settled in Wycoming Co., John who died unmarried, Catherine who married John Gruer.
II. Simon Ace, father of Moses, was a native of Smithfield township, he married Margaret Michaels, Margaret died at age 82 in March of 1898. Simon died April 29, 1899 at age 84. Children, (1).Samuel, who married Elizabeth Heller, d/o Henry Heller. Samuel died in June, 1898. Children; Robert, Howard, Charles, Annie, Sarah, Ida, who married George Craig of Springfield, NJ, Alda who married William Rockerfeller, of E. Stroudsburg. (2). Peter, born in Smithfield, unmarried, (3) David, born in Monroe County, lived in Minsi, married Sarah Heller, of Smithfield, (4) Horace, born in 1849, he married Lizzie Arndt of Monroe Co., d/o John, and the had children-Wetzer, Mary and Rhoda who died in childhood, (5) John, born in Smithfield, in 1851, married ____Arnd, of Stroud township, they lived in Swiftwater, Pocono township. children-Claud H., Mabel, and Cora.
III. Moses Ace, married in 1870 to Sarah J. TRieble, d/o Jacob and Jane (Decker), children-Washinton Irving, 1877, Stewart Wilson, 1879, Oscar, 1880,Lewis, 1882, Millard, 1885, Emma, 1887, and Floyd S. 1891
