Dear Judy, Do you know anything about your grandfather's brother Arthur, born 27-7-1864,just under two years before your grandfather ? Perhaps your aunt will know something. He also went out to Canada, along with Edward, because he and Edward were together members of the Queen's Own Rifles in Toronto in 1885.Edward went on to study theology at Toronto University, graduating there in 1889. Arthur disappeared. But I have discovered that he became a fairly renowned Shakespeare scholar and wrote four or five books on Shakespeare. The address from which he wrote the introductions was Ardsley-on-Hudson, New York state. He may also have had some connection with Chicago. That is as much as I know. Perhaps someone else might know something about him.I look forward to hearing more about your grandfather Alexander, I hope you will record everything your aunt knows about him. Best wishes, Neville Long.
