Hi, Elizabeth - My husband, Herb Waite, is the son of Mildred Achey whose father was Walter Achey, Jr. who ranched on the original 1800s homestead of Walter Achey, Sr. on the upper Wishkah river.
Walter, Sr. was the only brother of Clarence M. Achey who is evidently your line - Clarence being the father of Fred.
My husband and his sister are the only living people, to my knowledge, who ever lived on that Achey Homestead Act property while it was still an Achey ranch.
I have learned a lot from a group of Achey distant cousins who have an email group. Herb and I recently returned from Aberdeen where he attended a Wishkah School Reunion and I did some further research. It is an interesting family, but my husband had no idea of some of his ancestor's accomplishments before I began my research. For example, Mary Michaels Achey, mother of Walter, Sr., Clarence, and a daughter Ida, became a professional artist. She was able to make a living at it as a divorced woman in the 1800s and also bought property along the Wishkah River.
Mary and her daughter-in-law Marie Hortense Tuaillon Achey (my husband's great grandmother)are currently featured in an exhibit about local pioneer women at the Aberdeen Historical Museum. There is also a biography there of another woman from your Clarence's line -a sister of Fred,to the best of my memory without looking it up.
I will temporarily allow my personal email to show on this site in case you would like to contact me. -Julie Cline
