The person in question, Johannes Ache (1728-1808), is most definitely a distinct personage separate from the Johann Ludwig Ache (a.k.a. John Lewis Ache) (~1720-1762) the schoolteacher.
The real John Lewis / Johann Ludwig Ache arrived in Philadelphia in September 22, 1752 aboard the ship "Halifax." (Accompanying him on the Halifax were Johannes Jacob Ache and Hermannus Ache)J.L. married Catharine Holtz, daughter of a Philadelphia shopkeeper prior to 1755. He was the schoolmaster at the Reformed and Lutheran Church schoolhouse in Vincent Twp., Chester Co., Pa. He was also a member of the St. Vincent and Pike's Land Association, a militia unit mobilized for the French and Indian Wars. In April 1762, J.L. died being survived by his wife and two young children. At the time of his death, J.L. was living in Limerick Twp, Chester Co.
I trace my lineage to Hermannus aboard the Halifax; and am becoming less amused with the proliferation of fanciful stories associating Hermannus with "really" being the Heinrich Ache of Paxton Twp, Dauphin Co. The emigration of the various branches of the Ache(y) clan to colonial Pennsylvania is much more complicated than appears.
The "unreal" John Lewis Ache, to whom you express interest, name is most likely simply Johannes Ache. As mentioned previously, he is often attributed to being the man aboard the Halifax. This is not so.Johannes is related (we are presently unsure of the specifics) to another clan of Ache's living in Lancaster and Lebanon Co. Pennsylvania prior to the arrival of the three men aboard the Halifax.
This is a summary of what information I have on him.
