I am also descended from Lucinda Acker and William Wilton Burns, I think. Family lore cites their son Richard[(Richmond)b 01 oct 1863, m Octavia Isabelle Burchfield 06 Dec 1892, and d 07 Jan 1895] as the father of my grandmther, Nora May Burns (m James Fernandez Doate Tubbs). The birth and death dates come from transcriptions of Richmond (Richard) Burns' tombstone. I have not seen the origional.
1. Do you know the court book, page, etc of the origional orphan's court record naming Lucretia as Alfred Acker's daughter? I would love to order it from the LDS.
Like you, I hove only family lore to document Lucinda Acker as a daughter of Alfred and Rachael Herring Acker. I have, somewhere, an old Xerox copy of a type written transcription of the orphan's court record you mentioned. It does not list the location of the origional source. I suspect there may have been a transcription mistake.
2. Do you know when William Wilton Burns died?
He is not listed in the 1860 or 1870 Bibb County census. Loucinda Burns and family is listed. The family of Lucinda Burns is not, however, listed in the Heritage Quest index for the 1880 census anywhere. Given she died in 1886, she should be there. I have not gone through the Bibb County 1880 Census name by name yet. That takes a special frame of mind.
I have seen a possible death date for William Wilton Burns in the late 1850s. This is problematic for me because my ancestor, Richard (Richmond) Burns was born 01 Oct 1863. If William Wilton Burns truly died before 1860, then he could not be the father of Richmond Burns b in 1863.
This Richard/Richmond situation needs work, too, in ligh of the two problems listed above.
