Hi Mary (Cousin?),

Thanks for your information.I received an email from a Diane Ward Sives who says we are descendants of a David Ackerman who came to America in 1662 from Holland. Here is her info.

According to Diane, we are in a Vol 2 on a history of David's descendants.Until now, the farthest back I've traced is Sanford Ackerman born in 1802 in New York.I, also, have some good information on Edwin Carlos, even a picture, and his descendants.

My direct line is:

Sanford Ackerman (1802-New York)
Edwin Carlos Ackerman (1846?-Iowa)
Carl McKinley Ackerman (1896?-Nebraska)
Bartley Elvis Ackerman (1921-Nebraska)
Bartley Carl Ackerman (1948-Brussels,Belgium)

Interestingly, the last 4 generations at least, starting with Edwin who served with the 2nd Iowa Infantry Volunteers, have served in the military during our country's wars.

My email address is:
bcackerman@west.raytheon.com

You can write to me directly.I would be interested in knowing how we are related, and who else is out there.

Bart
