Actually, Johannes de la Montagne was the son of Jean de la Montagne who arrived in New Amsterdam with his wife, Rachel DeForest in 1637.Jean was a well known physician in N.A.See Riker's History of Haarlem.I would be very interested in finding out more about Eckerson/Montanye and Lozier/Losier.I am a descendant of Johannes and Jean de la Montagne, and of Abraham Losier and Annietje Eckerman.I think Annietje was the d/o David and Angenitje Vanderbeck. My Eckerman line would look like this - although I have little documentation for it: Thomas Hugesson and Sarah Brout/Bray (Could this be Brice? Jan Thomaszen + Appolonia Swits Jan Eckerson + Maria Jans Vanaernam Thomas J. Eckerson and Maria DesMarest David and Angenitje Vanderbeck Annatie Eckerson and Abraham Lozier.
Many generations later a Lozier married a Montanye.
I did not know there was a Montanye/Eckerman connection.Could someone clarify this?
The DesMarest family also shows up with the de la Montagnes.
