Nina,
My father-in-law, Edward Patterson Acree, 84, San Antonio, asked that I do some research on his family.I've just begun and and he didn't have much to start with. However, it looks like you're a cousin of his through William St. Clair Acree, his grandfather.
Edward Patterson Acree's father was William Edward Acree, b.Dec. 25,1895, Richmond VA; m. Gracie Elizabeth Gentry, Dec. 24, 1916, Richmond VA; d. Aug. 18, 1949, Richmond VA.
He had business education from Massey Business College, Richmond VA, and worked as office manager for different construction firms throughout the south. He met his future wife, Gracie Elizabeth Gentry, another student at Massey Business College. Gracie was born May 13, 1889, Richmond VA, King William County near tall gate, Mechanicsville Pike. She died May 20, 1965, Richmond VA.
Edward Patterson Acree's grandfather was William St. Clair Acree, b. (date?) Richmond VA; m. Margaret Belle Williams, Sept 13, 1894, Richmond VA; d. Jan 12, 1920.He worked for the C&O RR (Chesapeake and Ohio RR) as a train Conductor.Margaret Belle Williams was born Feb. 19, 1876, Richmond VA, and died Aug. 5, 1919, Richmond VA.I have it that she was a homemaker and the mother of eight children.I don't have any of their names or dates?
I was very excited to see your posting as the names take me three generations further back. What was your source for these three generations.Do you have any place names' connections for any of them?Any documents? Are they all from VA?Any children's names? Please send me anything you have.I look forward to working this line and you have been a big help.
