I'm not an Acton researcher, but I think I can help a little.Alger was apparently the grandson of Martin W. Acton and Hettie E. of Jefferson County, Tennessee.

My interest in the family is Edwin Lee (Lee) Rimmer, who was the nephew of my g grandfather George Jackson Cox.Lee Rimmer married Maude Acton, daughter of Martin W. Acton and Hettie E.Maude was either Alger's aunt, or else Maude was Alger's mother and Alger was illegitimate. At the time of the 1930 census, Maude was more like 47 years old than the 40 shown in the census.I believe that she was born in Aug 1883.
