Stan, Thanks for the info on Mary Eleanor. Any trace of the nickname Polly anywhere? I don't have any info on a Melinda Ogden and no other Actons (Theodore or otherwise) in my extensive notes. The link to Clark Co KY is fairly suspicious though. An Aquilla Ogden moved to Clark Co Ky about 1806 and, as far as I know, was the "father" of the Ogden line there. Of course, one wonders why he left Amherst Co VA for Clark Co KY; possibly a relative (cousin?) there? Anyway, a lot of info surrounding Aquilla is unclear (it is such an unusual name, however, that any mention of it is noteworthy). There was an Aquilla Sr and a Jr. Apparently, Sr (born ca 1770-80) was born in MD (son of Henry, b abt 1756), went to Amherst Co VA and had children (among them Aquilla Jr, abt 1806)and then went to Clark Co KY, also abt 1806. Debra Brady (see post in Ogden forum re: Henry) descends from a Permelia Ogden (b 1849, Clark Co KY) dau of Aquilla Sr. (her report). However, based on the dates, it appears more likely Permelia was dau of Aquilla Jr but we have no record of Jr following Sr to KY. We are pretty sure my ggg grandfather William Henry descends from the Aquillas and, based on his birth in 1825, it would appear he was son of Aquilla Jr.Wm Henry was born in, and remained in Amherst Co until his death. At present, info on other children of Aquilla (Sr or Jr) is scarce and it seems possible that Melinda could be dau of Sr (brother of Jr) and went to KY with Sr (purely speculation on my part). If so, one wonders how/why Aquilla Jr. remained in Va as an infant. I'm REAL interested in tracing lines back through Aquilla. If I find anything useful, I'll let you know. On the other hand, if you find anything on the Ogdens of KY (particularly Aquilla), PLEASE let me know. Any clue as to how another Acton from MD (Theodore) found his way to Clark Co KY to marry another Ogden?Could be more than coincidence??
