I am not sure whether there is a connection or not.If I give you the info I have about the top half of the tree (above the gap), maybe you can let me know whether there is anything that matches your information.
Philip Acton appears to have married 3 or 4 times, the only name of any wives that I have is Hannah Hankey and the tree shows that this took place at Pulfor, Chester.
Total children for Philip go as follows: William - who married a Parsons, children Philip, Margaret, Samuel and Fanney John - Children Samuel, who in turn had a son Samuel Thomas - married a Sutton, Children Thomas, Philip, Samuel, William, Ann, John (the one who died in 1853) and James Richard - Children John, Mary & Fanney Joseph Mary - married a Sumner, Children John, Philip and William Samuel - Children John, Mary (Married a Garle), Clara and Harriet Samuel - married Mary White, Children John, William, Samuel, Edward, Ann (also married a Garle) and Mary (married a Cain)
If you think any of these may link it would be great to have any information.
I was given the tree with this info on it but sadly there is no memory of where it originated or why the family was convinced they were related to John.
