I recently visited the gravesite of Osborn ACTON and thought that I would share the information with any one researching this line of the ACTON family.
This is the same man listed in Morrow County, Ohio census in 1850 as being 48 at the time. That census has him as being born in Maryland. He was born on 7 September 1800, so there is a little discrepancy here (that would have made him 49 on 1 January 1850).This is the Osborn that was married to Rachel HETRICK
To sum it up, b. 1800 in MD – moved to OH – moved to MO – d. 1869 Holt County, MO, burial in White Cloud, KS (across the Missouri River from Forest City, Holt County, MO, which is where his son Henry Lovelace ACTON was living).I believe he died at this son’s house, but I am not 100% sure of that fact.
I have pictures of his tombstone and will send it to any who asks.I hope this helps and would be interested in hearing from anyone researching this line.
died Mar. 29, 1869 aged 68 Ys, 6 Ms, 22Ds.
Behold I stand at the door and knockIf any man hear my voice and open the door, I will come to him and sup with him and he with me.
There is more writing on the bottom right, which I believe makes reference to Rev. 3:20 which is the verse sited above
