I have been looking for the family of my great great grandmother Ann Elizabeth May Acton born 1815-1820 who married John McAnealy in Ireland about 1845, had a son Edward in Ireland , and came to Saint John New Brunswick Canada in June of 1848. Her husband had been a ferry boat captain in Dublin? Her husband died of typhoid fever in 1864-after arriving on the ship Doctor Kane- I suspect he worked on the ship. Her family remained in New Brunswick- she lived with her daughter Sarah Jane McAnealy Casey(John) and she died in 1896. Both she and her parents were born in Ireland according to the 1891 census Her children were Edward,Joseph, MIchael, John and Sarah Jane. I understand that her birth family was church of england and her two brothers may have been clergy. Her husband was catholic.
