Following my previous message re complaints of Archibald Adair and Hamilton it is noted: 14 Nov. 1629 at Westminister that the King and the Lords Justices ordered to confer upon Archibald Hamilton, Bishop of Killala and Achonry, the vacant Archbishopric of Cashel and bishopric of Emly. They noted "If his predecessors have damaged the revenue of the see he may be relieved from the results of that damage so far as is just."
Nov. 23 1629 at Westminister the King to the Lords Justices ordered that the Bishopric of Killala and Achonry be conferred upon Archibald Adair, Dean of Raphoe.The new Archbishop of Cashel is to give up these Bishoprics within 2 months.The new Bishop is to be countenanced in recovering any lands wrongfully detained from his Bishopric.
Dec. 9 1929.The King to the Lords Justicesordering them to confer on Alexander Cunningham, prebend of Finvernally in the co. Donegal, the Deanery of Raphoe, rendered vacant by the promotion of Archibald Adair to the sees of Killala and Achonry.(Here spelt "O'Connery")
