Hi,I researched this line some for a client some years ago. I don't have any information on the John that died in KY. I can't see exactly where he fits into the line yet, he must.
I have John Adair born 1753 SC married 1780 Cherokee Nation to Gahoga. His marriage to Jean (Jeannie) Kilgore produced 10 children. His where-abouts is substanuated by all the kids. His brother Edward had more kids than Starr listed. Wife Elizabeth "Betsy" Scott was the mother of at least 2 sons. Walter Scott (Red-Watt) Adair, and James (JIM) Adair died at 2. ref: moravian Diary Springplace Georgia. Elizabeth was the daughter of Walter Scott and Sarah Hicks (Cherokee). She died 5 nov. 1825. She would of had to of been born at least by 1771 for Walter Scotts Adairs dob to be logical. Edwards other wife "Gosaduisga daughter Elizabeth" only had Edward Jr. But, There are several references like in Timberlake that there was children being born in the Creek Nation (just a few miles across the line)
I took Starrs note on John Jr. as "Killed at Battle of New Orleans." Is this where you think your John died KY is?
I was wondering how you are handleing the pre-america generations? James Adair born 1709 Antrim, Ireland, came to U.S. and was in South Carolina when John and Edward were born. His father was; Robert Adair 1666 Galloway, Scotland Robert Adair1640 Antrim, Ireland. Patrick Fitzgerald, 1625 Genoch, Ireland John Fitzgerald 1598 Genoch, Ireland Thomas Fitzgerald 1570, England The 6th Earl of Desmond.
Do you have any better dates on these next 6 generations? also what clarity do you have on the line back to the 3rd earl, the viceroy of ireland between 1367-1369?
