re my previous message re the McCarthy family, in the year 1325 Maurice fitzMaurice fitzGerald, 4th Lord of Kerry, slew Dermot McCarthy in the presence of a Judge.
Perhaps more details of this may be found in the PRO of Northern Ireland microfilm MIC/639 and T/3075 under fitzGerald (Knights of Kerry) papers.Perhaps microfilm may be borrowed from LDS.Believe the Knights of Kerry were of Tralee.
re the ship "I Dare" it was listed in Lloyds Register for 1853 belonging to the Port of Glasgow. The Master was G. Adair, it was built at Sunderland 1840 and the owner was listed as Galbreath (or Galbraith). Had a voyage Cly (Clyde ?) to Australia.
Could be that this ship transported the residents of Donegal to Tasmania, Australia.
